Reunion Giving
Reunion Giving is an opportunity to give back to your alma mater, show your appreciation for the experiences you had at Mary Washington, and make those experiences available to current and future generations of students.
Many alumni reaffirm their loyalty to Mary Washington by making a “stretch” gift (larger than normal), and classmates who have never given–or who give infrequently–often are motivated to participate as part of the celebration.
Reunion Giving Competition
At the All-Class Party, we will recognize the class with the highest giving participation, the class with the most donors, and the class with the highest total class gift.
What gifts count during a Reunion year?
- Any gift to any designation made since your last reunion (July 1, 2021 through June 30, 2026)
- All annual pledges made and paid during this fiscal year (July 1, 2025 through June 30, 2026)
- All multi-year pledges made since your last reunion (July 1, 2021 through June 30, 2026)
Example: a pledge of $500/year for 5 years would count as $2,500 toward your class gift in the year it is made; pledge payments do not count in the totals - All matching gifts received since your last reunion (July 1, 2021 through June 30, 2026)
- All known bequest gifts and pledges, annuities, and charitable trusts established after your last reunion (July 1, 2021 through June 30, 2026)

Remember—if you have named UMW in your estate plans, please be sure to let the University know! Estate pledges can only count toward your class gift if the Office of Gift Planning is aware of your intentions.
